The Sacred Site Project
Preserving the Voices of Meher Baba’s Home in the West
Meher Baba called the Center His Home in the West and a place of pilgrimage for all time. Because of His physical presence here, we view the entire Center as a sacred place.
The Meher Spiritual Center has begun a special effort to record and collect short, heartfelt reflections from those who love the Center — overnight guests, day visitors, local community members, volunteers, and staff.
These submissions will share why the Meher Spiritual Center is experienced as a sacred place of pilgrimage and who Meher Baba is to each individual.
The project, guided by the Center’s Historian and supported by volunteers, will gather short (under 7-minute) personal videos or written documents that will become part of the Center’s private historical archive — a testimony to the enduring sacredness of Baba’s Home in the West.
Each submission should explore these questions:
- Who is Meher Baba to you?
- Meher Baba referred to the Center as a place of pilgrimage for all time. Because He visited here and blessed this place with His presence the entire Center is regarded as a sacred site. In what ways have you experienced the sacredness of Meher Center?
Each person’s sharing helps preserve the Center’s living story and the deep connection people feel to this sacred land.
All recordings/documents will be stored privately by Meher Spiritual Center. The recordings/documents will not be streamed or shared publicly unless the participant gives explicit permission.
How to submit a video or written document online:
All submissions can be emailed to: sacredsite@mehercenter.org. If you have any questions about the project or your submission, you may reach out to the above email address.
Video submissions should be in an mov or mp4 format.
How to create a recording in person:
If you will be visiting Meher Center and are interested in creating a recording in person, you may schedule a time by contacting Jane Brown Mossman: janebrown77@gmail.com or (843) 222-0858 (text or call between 9am-6pm).
Filming will take place at the Center in a quiet, peaceful setting, either Dilruba or Saroja Library. The Historian and/or Volunteer videographers will assist with all equipment and guide the brief conversation.
